Another one off the list. Last year around April I took profile photos of the kids for this project. I finally got around to cutting them out! The rate I am tracking on project meeting fruition seems to average out about 1.5 years per idea.

I really like how Rhys’ silhouette turned out, but Sloan has changed so much I am going to do hers over. She has just grown so much since those baby days.

I just framed Rhys’ and will post some more photos during the week with the dino pillow completed.

My husband just left today for an overseas work trip. I plan to hunker down on the sewing machine at night while he is gone and hopefully “land the plane” on the plane quilt. Wish me luck!

shells

We had some left over stamps from Rhys’ painting party and some stencil paint from our submarine shirts. We decided to take a break from the beach and potter around the house this morning. Cookies have been baked, house has been trashed and this is the fabric we printed that we are going to sew together into a pillow. I wish we had a few more colors to play with. Great excuse to visit Spotlight- like I need an excuse.

New into 2009 I finally accomplished something I have had in my head for awhile….a new banner on the blog! Hope you like it as much as I do. It really captures Sydney in the summer for me.

We are spending this hot summer at a lot of water filled locations trying to escape our hot rental house that is hotter inside than out. It was so hot New Year’s day we took the kids to the pub with Uno and played in their air con for a hour. Sad but true.

Still managing to squeeze a bit of sewing in the heat. A few more nights and I am going to have those planes done! Happy 2009 to everyone!
